The PC-17 is a lightweight,
electromagnetic operated, air-cooled, magazine fed, selective rate,
shoulder-fired weapon with a collapsible stock. It fires a 5mm
caseless round at 5500mps (16500 fps) with a cyclic rate of 1200
rounds per minute.
The PC-17 is built around a central
receiver, to which all of the other components are attached,
allowing optics, barrels and stocks to be changed as the situation
dictates. It uses four different interchangeable barrels (a 220mm
CQB, a 318mm assault, a 508mm match grade sharpshooter, or a 508mm
heavy barrel for sustained high Rate of Fire applications), each of
which can be swapped out in less than 2 minutes. It can also be
equipped with a 5-position collapsible stock, a flat butt plate (for
an extremely small weapon profile), an adjustable sniper stock, or a
folding stock.
The PC-17 can be fired in
semi-automatic, three round burst and full auto with the press of a
button. It also features an adjustable electric trigger that ranges
from a standard trigger pull of 3 kg to a mere 750g.
The PC-17 comes standard with a M100
IDF unit, the RIS mounting system, and the S-55 Combat Optic, a
variant of the S-70 Combat Sight found on the JXR-33. The S-55
features all of the options of the S-70, plus atmospheric data that
would affect the projectile.
